Overview: Plansmart Financial Planning is designed for those in the early to
mid-career stage. The program emphasis is on accumulating assets, managing debt and
protecting earning power. The course materials will help participants understand why there
are financial planning priorities and assist them to establish their own goals. The
specific details of your benefit plans can be incorporated into the program, helping
employees understand the significance of workplace benefits in the context of their own
personal strategies.
Facilitators: Each Plansmart seminar is facilitated by a member of Rarestone's
national network. Facilitators are carefully selected and have CFP (Certified Financial
Planner) designations.
Materials: Course material is specific to Canadians. All materials are updated
frequently, ensuring that your employees receive the most current information. Each
participant will receive a workbook. Facilitators are able to present the material using
either overhead transparencies or Microsoft PowerPoint. To help increase attendance, your
facilitator can also provide posters and brochures for your seminar.
Length: Plansmart Financial Planning is a 9 hour program
and ideally presented in 3 three-hour sessions.
Education modules: Plansmart Financial Planning is
modular, allowing employers to include any or all of the components. Employers may set
them up in such a way as to meet time and scheduling requirements. Seminar content
includes:
- Basic economics
- Taxes and tax planning
- Budgeting, cash flow and debt management
- Managing risks
- Planning for the future
- Investing and portfolio structure
- Sources of retirement income
- Wills, etc.
