Finance and Investing for Women
By Karen Diamond B Admin CFP R.F.P.
ISBN 0-9730175-6-2
88 pages
Overview: During the course of their
lives, 80% to 90% of women will find themselves solely responsible for making financial
decisions, yet many feel ill-equipped to do so. Longer life expectancies, interrupted
careers and a tendency to be more conservative investors means that women's financial
planning issues can be very different from those of men. This course will attempt to bring
enlightenment and encouragement to women who want to better understand the issues and take
charge of their financial futures. The specific details of your benefit plans can be
incorporated into the program, helping employees understand the significance of workplace
benefits in the context of the own personal strategies.
Facilitators: Each Finance and Investing for Women seminar is facilitated by a
member of Rarestone's national network. Facilitators are carefully selected and have CFP
(Certified Financial Planner) designations.
Materials: Course material is specific to Canadians. All materials are updated
frequently, ensuring that your employees receive the most current information. Each
participant will receive a workbook. Facilitators are able to present the material using
either overhead transparencies or Microsoft PowerPoint.
Program Length: Finance and Investing for Women is a 9 hour course, ideally
presented in 3 three-hour sessions.
Education modules: Finance and Investing for Women is modular, allowing
employers to include any or all of the components. Employers may set them up in such a way
